About The Position

AECOM Water is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our busy Albuquerque, NM office. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, will have at least two years of experience in the Engineering field, and have previous project management experience. The candidate should be capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously and meeting project schedules. Basic knowledge of industry-standard computer software such as AutoCAD, Revit, BlueBeam, etc., is expected. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and prior experience in water industry design would be advantageous.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 2 years of relevant structural or civil engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first six months.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the water industry is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Previous project management experience.
  • Work as part of a project team under the direction of a licensed engineer.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects efficiently
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering projects from conception to completion under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
  • Assist with Project Management tasks such as developing proposals, being responsible for managing client invoices, adhering to AECOM’s quality requirements.
  • Develop drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
  • Participate in site visits to assess existing structures and monitor construction progress.
  • Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and innovative structural engineering practices.
  • Participate in collecting and analyzing field data.
  • Using computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Performing work by agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
  • Travel to other states for fieldwork on 1 to 3-day trips, accounting for up to 20% of the overall time.
