About The Position

The Civil Engineer leads the planning, development, and execution of civil engineering projects with minimal supervision. The role serves as a primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong relationships through regular communication, collaboration, and responsive problem-solving. It also contributes to proposals, cost estimates, and schedules; coordinates project teams and sub-consultants; and oversees budgets, invoicing, quality, and timely project delivery.

The position involves site/civil design and navigating entitlement and permitting processes, including rezoning, special or conditional use permits, site plan approvals, and construction document approvals. The Civil Engineer supervises and mentors junior team members, supports business development, participates in industry events, and maintains client relationships.

Requirements

• B.S. in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in site/civil design.
• Strong portfolio of retail, commercial, public sector, and residential projects.
• Expertise in site layout, grading, storm drainage, stormwater management, water and sewer utilities, and erosion control.
• In-depth knowledge of local entitlement and permitting regulations.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D (required), Hydraflow Storm Sewers/Hydrographs, WaterCAD, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate with diverse project teams.
• Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and passion for client service.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, development, and execution of civil engineering projects with minimal supervision.

• Participate in preparing and reviewing project proposals, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Oversee and assign responsibilities to team members to support timely and accurate project delivery.
• Perform detailed QA/QC checks on technical deliverables and ensure compliance with design standards.
• Navigate entitlement and permitting processes, including rezoning, special or conditional use permits, site plan approvals, and construction document approvals.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and ensuring high-quality work.
• Manage project budgets, invoicing, and coordination with sub-consultants.
• Support business development, participate in industry events, and maintain existing client relationships.
