About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Civil Engineer to join the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) team. In this role, you will support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Eastern Service Area (ESA) by performing design engineering, cost estimating, scheduling, coordinating, inspecting, and accepting projects. You will report project progress and issues against project goals, scope of work, and schedule. The projects support air traffic control facilities over the geographic scope of the ESA. You will ensure the accuracy of designs, products, and the timeliness of project completion. This is a hybrid position with approximately 2 days per week in the office. Must be located in the College Park, GA area.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture highly preferred, from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and 8+ years of experience in design and construction of commercial or institutional facilities, or a Masters degree and 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Current and relevant knowledge of building codes.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proficiency in engineering analysis and design software tools.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain public trust suitability.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to create and edit project drawings in AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of the National Airspace System components within an air route traffic control center (ARTCC).
  • Registered Professional Engineer in good standing in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze structural and civil systems for government and institutional facilities, including foundations, framing, slabs, retaining walls, and support structures.
  • Prepare and review construction drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical criteria in compliance with Federal, State, and Local codes and public-sector standards.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architects and MEP, civil, and geotechnical engineers to integrate structural and site designs across complex projects.
  • Perform structural modeling, material selection, cost estimating, and quantity takeoffs using industry-standard software such as Revit, SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, SAFE, Bluebeam, and RSMeans.
  • Support construction administration through site visits, shop drawing reviews, RFIs, inspections, and verification of conformance with design intent.
