About The Position

Design Works Engineering is a multi-discipline engineering firm seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer with a strong background in both field and design work. This is an on-site position working out of either our Kelowna or Comox office. The firm emphasizes creating great projects and even better relationships, with a diverse staff sharing this vision.

Requirements

A degree in civil engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in municipal/ land development.
Must be a registered professional engineer in good standing with Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
Experience building Civil 3D templates.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate with other disciplines and work as a team player.
Effective time management and strong organization skills.
Self-starter and attention to details.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
A valid Driver’s License as site inspections and travel will be occasionally required.
Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication.
Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks without supervision.
A natural self-starter with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues from various disciplines.
Understand the importance of providing a high level of customer service to all clients and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Perform field inspections and site visits for various civil engineering projects.
Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings and designs by using Civil 3D.
Prepare civil related engineering reports and analyses.
Prepare construction cost estimates, project specifications and contract documents.
Perform engineering calculations for water, sewer, and drainage systems.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, project team members, and stakeholders on various projects.
