This role offers the opportunity to focus on large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects, leading significant portions of facilities through design, construction, and startup phases as a technical specialist or lead. Responsibilities include hands-on involvement in developing reports, technical memos, studies, detailed designs, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents. Participation in scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration, as well as business development and proposal preparation, are also key aspects of the role. The position involves coordinating with internal and external team members and identifying client interests and drivers on projects.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
Minimum of 5 years related work experience.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Licensed PE or ability and interest to obtain PE and/or be in active pursuit of registration
Thorough understanding or water and wastewater design (i.e., Infrastructure, Conveyance, Pump Stations/Lift Stations)
Ability and motivation to lead portions of complex projects with guidance and mentorship

Responsibilities

Perform design of projects from the conceptual and bid phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set by the project managers based off client needs
Assist the Engineering Manager in maintaining project schedules and budgets
Assist the Engineering Manager in managing sub-consultants
Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, interface directly with the client or sub-consultants
Support business development through writing of technical approaches, scopes of work, and presentation to clients
Utilizes knowledge of regularly used civil concepts, practices, codes, and procedures within the water engineering industry
Applies knowledge to complex projects, find and develop non-standard design solutions to better serve clients project specifications
Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to less experienced engineers
Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines and project team
Prepares a variety of complex engineering deliverables.
Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
Plans and conducts independent evaluation, selection and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures,and criteria.
Reviews engineering work and/or assignments of early career professionals.
Is responsible for one or more of the following: overseeing collection, assimilation, and management of data for engineering work; leading smaller production teams; and serving as the responsible charge for a project.
