About The Position

This role is responsible for acting as the project manager to one or more municipalities or other public agencies. The project manager will act as the single point of contact between the firm and the project, supervising and coordinating all projects performed in the firm on behalf of the client to their satisfaction. The engineer will develop or implement engineering solutions to assist clients with improving and maintaining their infrastructure. This includes designing transportation, utility, facility, or hydraulic systems or structures using computer-assisted design or drawing tools, and computing load and grade requirements, water flow rates, or material stress factors to determine design specifications. The role also involves estimating quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility, analyzing survey reports, maps, and other topographical data, and conducting studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and assess potential project impact. All design activities must ensure compliance with environmental, safety, or other governmental regulations, and the engineer will identify environmental risks and develop risk management strategies. A key part of the role involves attending public meetings as a Municipal Engineer or Land Use Board Engineer, preparing and presenting public reports, and providing technical advice to clients. Support for field activities of construction inspection staff, including timely data, shop drawing review, and client coordination, is also required.
