Requirements

  • Four years of professional civil engineering experience which includes three years in the appropriate specialty and one year of experience in directing the work of civil engineers.
  • Possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Must possess and maintain a REAL ID or passport.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assign and track permit applications to maintain balanced workloads and meet program requirements
  • Guide implementation of policies, procedures, and programs such as SPEED, PRP/PDG, and applicable SOPs
  • Evaluate completed work and proposed actions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with laws and guidance
  • Supervise, train, and support staff to promote effective work habits, clear communication, and professional growth
  • Work closely with regional offices, Central Office, and partner agencies to ensure consistent permitting and inspection practices
  • Conduct inspections, review enforcement actions, prepare reports, and represent the Department in meetings and hearings
