Civil Engineer Intern
About The Position
WGM Group is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for summer 2027 in its Bozeman office. The multidisciplinary engineering firm works in planning and design, surveying, environmental services, and natural resource management. The internship offers exposure to a variety of projects and disciplines to support the intern’s professional growth. The intern will assist with civil engineering project tasks, planning, design, surveying, construction observation, infrastructure testing, traffic counts, and project documentation. Depending on experience, the intern may also help design plans for public capital improvement projects, commercial sites, and subdivisions. WGM Group promotes work-life balance through flexible and hybrid work schedules. It offers hourly pay, and hours worked over 40 per week are eligible for overtime compensation. Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in AutoCAD Civil3D.
Responsibilities
- Assist on projects involving civil engineering tasks, planning, and design.
- Produce redlines on engineering documents using Civil3D.
- Provide survey support as a field crew member, including grade stake computations and marking.
- Perform construction observation and water and sewer infrastructure testing.
- Assist in preparing cost estimate quantities.
- Conduct traffic counts.
- Maintain project files and databases.
- Support the development of reports, calculation packages, and specifications.
- Depending on experience, assist with designing plans for public capital improvement projects, commercial sites, and subdivisions.
