Our Forensics practice investigates problems in the built environment and provides evidence-based solutions founded on rigorous science and physics. We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues. We have an opportunity for a Civil Engineer Intern for our Forensics Practice.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate student with a concentration in civil engineering.
  • Excellent academic record.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CAD programs (i.e. AutoCAD).
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally for field investigations.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with any of the following programs is a plus, but is not required: Revit, Bluebeam, and gINT.

Responsibilities

  • On-site inspections and investigations including surveying and documenting observations, photography, and sketching.
  • Assist in preparing field notes.
  • Assist the engineering team in preparing technical and investigative reports to support forensics findings and prepare materials related to presentations.
  • Assist the engineering team in analysis and repair rehabilitation design.
  • Research the historic background of diverse structures, technical issues, and applicable code requirements.
  • Organize field data to facilitate analysis and problem-solving.
  • Assist the engineering team in the preparation of drawings and specifications related to structural repair, remediation efforts, and geotechnical analysis.
