Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school or University is required.
  • Minimum of 0 - 2 years’ experience predominantly in the Power delivery sector.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License.
  • AutoDesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD Storm and Sanitary Analysis and/or HydroCAD, AutoTurn, MathCad, Office Suite.
  • Must have excellent oral / written communication skills and ability to work well in teams.
  • Ability to apply analytical or scientific thinking to define and solve problems and be able to execute field and office tasks.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel (required).
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of applicable codes and standards (AASHTO, ACI, AISC, ASTM, ANSI, IBC, OSHA, etc.).
  • Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate.
  • Ability to identify and develop solutions to complex problems or seek guidance from more experienced engineers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, occasionally in excess of a normal 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule.
  • Ability to travel as dictated by project requirements.
  • Excellent technical, team, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Registered as EIT, PREFERRED, taken and successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering duties associated with the development of solar, wind, and battery storage sites.
  • Responsible for the development of permit-level site plans, stormwater management design, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP’s), and stormwater drainage reports at the direction of a lead engineer.
  • Support and interface with the design and drafting group.
  • Utilize relevant software for the design of greenfield, brownfield, and access roads.
  • Prepare engineering reports, specifications, drawing packages and other deliverables associated with design projects.
  • Provide detailed engineering input to all design phases, including interpretation and challenge standards.
  • Provide practical engineering support to the construction/commissioning phases of projects.
  • Project safety, demonstrating safety is a priority via safety leadership, adherence to TRC and client safety policies and standards.
  • Coordination with allied disciplines in preparation and development of deliverables.
  • Takes responsibility for study, design, specification and services related to the engineering discipline.
