Civil Engineer I/II - Permits
About The Position
Performs a variety of more difficult technical and supportive professional engineering tasks. Reviews and recommends approval of plans submitted with permit applications for underground utility installation, construction by other governmental units, and plans for all permit paving. Reviews associated drainage. Attends numerous meetings with other Road Commission departments and various outside governmental and private agencies relative to permit activities. Performs field reviews of proposed construction sites for permit work. Reviews and processes residential driveway permit applications. Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County. Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation. Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience commensurate with the duties described above is required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Bluebeam and CityWorks is preferred.
