Civil Engineer I/II - Highway Maintenance
About The Position
This position involves performing a variety of technical and supportive professional engineering tasks in both field and office settings, in conjunction with the Supervisor and Project Engineer. The role includes attending meetings for preliminary plan discussions, pre-construction, and other departmental meetings. The Civil Engineer will assist with the management of Maintenance Preservation Programs, arrange and manage maintenance contracts, and review associated drainage issues with district personnel. Additionally, the position requires managing various budget accounts and contracts. The individual must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County. Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function, requiring a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.
- A valid State of Michigan Driver License is required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Possess a valid Driver's License.
Nice To Haves
- One to three (1-3) years of experience commensurate with the duties described above is preferred.
