About The Position

EMH&T is currently seeking a Civil Engineer (EI) to join our Public Works team located in Columbus, OH. Our Public Works EIs work with central Ohio's municipalities, while working under the guidance of experienced Engineers and Project Managers who provide mentorship and support throughout your career development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 0 - 4 years experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States; EMH&T is not currently able to sponsor work visas.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience, including internships or co-op experiences in civil, construction, or a related area and exposure to engineering consulting firm environment, preferred.
  • Ability to apply engineering knowledge to practical design challenges.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Work independently after receiving appropriate guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing conceptual plans, exhibits, and plan sets while utilizing AutoCAD C3D.
  • Drainage analysis, preparing surfaces, line work and contour drawings from survey data points.
  • Developing plan and profile drawings and details, grading, utility plans, storm sewers, roadways, required easements, access drives, parking and more, in accordance with local zoning standards and internal EMH&T drafting standards.
  • Planning and organizing workflow.
  • Coordinating and overseeing work prepared by others.
  • Developing design calculations and subsequent plan details and specifications.
  • Assisting with plan reviews and modifications.
