About The Position

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer - Drainage/Stormwater Transportation to be based in Tampa, Florida. The qualified applicant will be part of a vibrant team within the Transportation Group consisting of managers, engineers, designers, and planners, etc. with varying years of experience. As an AECOM Entry-Level Civil Engineer - Drainage/Stormwater Transportation, you can look forward to projects including various assignments for the Department of Transportation and local municipalities throughout Florida. You will also be responsible for developing strong working relationships with clients and staff plus maintain a high level of project standards and meeting or ideally exceeding client expectations. This position is expected to begin as soon as possible, or January 2027. This position requires in office attendance a minimum of three days a week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or other related Engineering field, or currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering, or a related field, with completion anticipated within the next 3 months.

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain in 6 months.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university or anticipated completion within the next 10 months.
  • Transportation Hydraulics Design experience is helpful.
  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software.
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs engineering analysis and plans preparation associated with roadway infrastructure improvements.
  • Works under the direction of senior staff to develop plans and calculations for transportation projects.
  • Assists in design of collection and conveyance systems for transportation projects.
  • Assists in design of stormwater management facilities to meet water quality and quantity requirements.
  • Assists in the application of local regulatory requirements for water quality and quantity, which encompasses SJRWMD, SFWMD, SWFWMD, FDEP, RCID, and local municipalities.
  • Works under the direction of senior staff to write reports and produce construction plans.
