Dewberry is currently seeking a Civil Engineer - Assistant Civil Engineering Department Manager to join our Peoria IL office. In this role, you will perform a variety of civil engineering functions in support of a growing office. Dewberry’s Peoria, IL office includes over 40 design professionals, including a large Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Structural (MEPS) Group focused on design services for nationwide clients in specialized facility types and specialized design services. Requirements

BS degree in Civil Engineering.
Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred.
8-10+ years of design experience desired, related to civil engineer related design projects.
AutoCad required and Civil3D and Microstation preferable.
Looking for experience in site/civil design, roadway/transportation design, stormwater management and project management skills.
Communicates effectively.

Responsibilities

Project Management
Multi-Discipline Project Coordination
Mentor junior staff
Perform work that may include, but is not limited to, construction document (plan and specifications), technical reports preparation and/or oversight; engineering analyses, cost estimates and quality control/quality assurance in order to deliver a quality design product.
Implement regulatory requirements and design standards
Other duties as required.
Assisting the Department Manager in: Growing, mentoring, and developing the staff within discipline area to allow each person to achieve their maximum potential.
Minimum annual evaluations for each direct report.
Providing technical guidance/leadership for discipline area.
Organizing staff in a way to allow career advancement, professional development, quality client service, and operational efficiencies to meet business and project financial goals.
Taking a very active role in recruitment of staff in discipline area including networking, recruitment, interviewing and “deal closing”.
