About The Position

Morrison-Maierle, a 100% employee-owned firm specializing in integrated consulting and design services, is seeking a Civil Engineering project leader for airport design projects. This role will involve landside, airside upgrades, rehabilitation, expansions, and construction administration for general aviation to commercial airfields. The Civil Engineer will support and lead the planning and design of airport projects, including facilities, terminals, runways, navigation, and airspace studies, as well as water, gas, and power design and analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or equivalent ABET-accredited engineering program
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional designation required
  • Minimum 4+ years of airport airfield, landside/airside design and construction experience
  • Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D and Blue Beam
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Growth mindset for client acquisition
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable record for travel

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or willing to obtain after-hire
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and airport safety preferred
  • Project engineering experience desired

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with design teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to understand project vision.
  • Leverages design software to create project designs, draft plans, drawings, and models according to project specifications.
  • Applies FAA and airport safety knowledge in design work.
  • Ensures precision and project safety through meticulous design.
  • Resolves complex design challenges creatively.
  • Performs technical writing for Request for Proposals, report writing, project specifications, and memorandums.
  • Applies construction knowledge to oversee builds.
  • Supports project managers with construction administration tasks.
  • Leads project management tasks and cross-functional teams.
  • Completes project tasks from start to finish, supporting project and client services managers.
  • Analyzes facilities for system deficiencies regarding compliance with local, state, and federal standards and regulations, and provides improvement alternatives.
  • Provides job site support and observation and monitors construction progress.
