Timmons Group is seeking a talented Civil Designer to join their dynamic Water/Wastewater Group in the Virginia Beach, VA office. The qualified individual will perform civil site design tasks for a variety of water/wastewater infrastructure projects. Requirements

At least three years of design/engineering experience in municipal infrastructure is required.
Intermediate to advanced ability to use AutoCAD Civil 3D software is required.
Must possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and be able to read technical literature and engineering plans.
Must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activities.
Must demonstrate two-way communication to effectively work with internal staff.

Nice To Haves

Ability to use other engineering automation tools (Revit, BIM 360) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Use professional judgment to independently complete assigned engineering designs.
Lead and execute civil site design tasks across diverse infrastructure projects.
Collaborate closely with Project Managers and mentor junior engineers.
Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure technical accuracy.
Make impactful design decisions that align with client goals and project timelines.
Identify and resolve technical, scheduling, or financial challenges.
Support construction oversight and respond to contractor inquiries.
Contribute to proposals, cost estimates, and client communications.
Act as a technical expert on assigned projects and as Project Manager on smaller scope or specialty projects as assigned.
