About The Position

Our US East Design & Delivery Organization (DDO) is looking for a Civil Designer to join their team in Buffalo, NY! In this role, you'll prepare detailed design drawings for grading and site development, utility piping, process piping and chemical feed system layouts of moderate to advanced complexity, including developing alignments, profiles, cross sections and details specific to wastewater/water facilities and horizontal infrastructure design projects such as force mains, storm/sanitary sewers and water pipelines. Working with an energetic and hard-working team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently. Solutions Analysis: Interpret data and identify possible answers. Involves navigating a wide variety of processes, procedures, and precedents. Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education and reading specialist media. Operational Compliance: Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure. Project and Solution Development: Carry out a range of project development and engineering activities. Use established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver design projects. Design and Conceptualization: Research and interpret data, trends, and benchmarks relevant to digital services design.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in CADD or Civil Engineering Technology; HS Diploma and relevant experience will also be considered
  • 2-5 years of experience in site-civil / water & wastewater / storm water / erosion & sediment control design
  • Strong technical skills with AutoCAD and Civil3D

Nice To Haves

  • Revit, Civil HydroCAD and/or TR-55 experience a plus
