About The Position

HDR is hiring for a civil design role in its Building Engineering Services Group. The group brings together mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering professionals to design infrastructure for data centers and commercial environments, supporting technological advancement, sustainability, and human experience. The position assists with site studies and design, prepares contract documentation and graphic presentations, and completes routine engineering assignments. Work may be performed independently on small projects or in support of senior engineers on larger projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in HDR's employee-owned culture.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Familiarity and demonstrated experience with civil engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil 3D; specialty civil platforms such as Openflows as required.
• EIT license preferred. Candidates hired without an EIT will be titled Civil Designer and expected to receive an EIT license for career progression.
• Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation, and graphic presentation.
• Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout, and drainage.
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects.
• Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
• Perform other duties as needed.
