About The Position

IMEG is hiring a Civil Design Technician in Missoula, Montana, to work closely with experienced engineers and consultants in developing design solutions that support positive client outcomes. In this role, you will assist with preparing models and drawings for civil engineering projects while helping the team stay aligned with project budgets, goals, and client expectations.

Requirements

Associates degree, or certificate, in utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools or engineering preferred
Prior experience in the civil engineering consulting or construction industry preferred
Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, primarily Civil 3D but Bentley OpenRoads is a plus
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Proficient with MS Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook

Responsibilities

Assist engineers and designers with field measurements of existing plans and prepare drawings from field data
Request clarification on unclear markups or drafting instructions
Support the design and analysis of civil engineering project features using Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools
Prepare detailed designs, specifications, and calculations in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards
Analyze lower-complexity design tasks and collaborate with engineers to develop practical, efficient solutions
Participate in quality control processes to help ensure designs meet IMEG standards, industry standards, and client requirements
Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in civil engineering and contribute to innovation efforts within IMEG
Prioritize safety in all aspects of design work and help identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with civil-related construction projects
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
