About The Position

Kimley-Horn is seeking a CAD Operator to join their Land Development team in Reston, Virginia. This role involves using basic computer drafting software to create site plans and construction drawings for Kimley-Horn projects. The position requires designing and producing plan sets, implementing and managing AutoCAD drafting standards, assisting with the drawing database, and performing routine data accuracy checks. The individual will also develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0 to 3 years of relevant experience
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn
• Ability to work independently and with a team

Nice To Haves

• Associates degree preferred
• Proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products preferred

Responsibilities

• Use basic computer drafting software to generate site plans and construction drawings for Kimley-Horn projects
• Design and produce sets of plans
• Implement and manage AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards
• Assist in maintaining the drawing database
• Perform routine analysis to check accuracy of data
• Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards
