About The Position

As a Civil Design Engineer II / III, you’ll help deliver civil and land development designs for utility-scale renewable energy projects that support a cleaner, more resilient energy future. In this role, you’ll apply civil engineering judgment, technical curiosity, and a collaborative mindset to support high-quality project execution from early design through final deliverables. You’ll contribute to practical, buildable solutions across renewable energy projects while working with a mission-driven team that values ownership, craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and meaningful impact. Candidates may be considered at either the Engineer II or Engineer III level depending on experience, technical depth, independence, and demonstrated ability to lead scope.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in civil engineering design, land development, renewable energy, infrastructure, site design, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of civil engineering principles, standards, codes, and design practices.
  • Ability to prepare or contribute to engineering drawings, calculations, reports, and project documentation.
  • Ability to identify and solve engineering problems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be both creative and analytical.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborative approach to project delivery and cross-functional coordination.
  • Typically 2+ years of experience in a civil engineering design role (Engineer II).
  • Typically 5+ years of experience in a civil engineering design role, with demonstrated ability to lead significant portions of project scope with limited oversight (Engineer III).

Nice To Haves

  • EIT Certificate or Professional Engineering (PE) licensure, depending on level.
  • Prior renewable energy, utility-scale solar, BESS, infrastructure, or land development experience.
  • Experience with civil design software and tools relevant to site design, grading, drainage, stormwater, and permitting.
  • Experience coordinating with clients, permitting authorities, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Create civil engineering plans, details, calculations, and documentation for renewable energy and land development projects.
  • Support site design, grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion control, access roads, and related civil design scope.
  • Apply civil engineering principles, standards, procedures, and criteria to develop practical and constructible design solutions.
  • Prepare project documentation, including drawings, reports, technical studies, specifications, and supporting calculations.
  • Coordinate design work with internal project teams, including civil, structural, electrical, project management, and other disciplines.
  • Review site constraints, permitting requirements, jurisdictional standards, and project-specific criteria.
  • Identify design issues, project risks, and opportunities to improve quality, constructability, or efficiency.
  • Support project execution in alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Perform essential duties, including meeting deliverables and deadlines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or directed.
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, jurisdictional, and client-specific standards, practices, and codes.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate engineering work clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with clients, project managers, permitting authorities, and external partners as appropriate for the assigned level.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and technical staff to deliver accurate and complete project work.

  • Work under the guidance of more senior staff while developing independent engineering judgment (Engineer II).
  • Own discrete portions of project scope, such as calculations, plan sheets, technical studies, or documentation packages (Engineer II).
  • Apply standard engineering methods and criteria to solve defined design problems (Engineer II).
  • Support civil design work for small projects or portions of larger, more complex projects (Engineer II).
  • Collaboratively determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments (Engineer II).
  • Manage time efficiently across multiple tasks or projects (Engineer II).
  • Coordinate with project managers and internal teams on expectations, deliverables, and deadlines (Engineer II).
  • Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments (Engineer II).
  • Identify routine design issues and elevate more complex risks, tradeoffs, or decisions (Engineer II).
  • Continue building fluency in Revamp’s standards, workflows, tools, and renewable energy project requirements (Engineer II).
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering procedures and criteria (Engineer III).
  • Lead significant portions of civil design scope for one or more utility-scale renewable energy projects (Engineer III).
  • Design a project, system, component, or process and prepare complete project documentation (Engineer III).
  • Formulate and solve moderately complex engineering problems with sound judgment and limited oversight (Engineer III).
  • Develop work plans for project tasks and discipline team members (Engineer III).
  • Support client interaction for multiple projects or a project portfolio (Engineer III).
  • Assign tasks to and direct discipline team members to complete assignments (Engineer III).
  • Review work for accuracy, completeness, constructability, and alignment with project requirements (Engineer III).
  • Mentor staff engineers and designers by answering technical questions, reviewing work, and modeling strong engineering practices (Engineer III).
  • Anticipate project risks, constraints, and tradeoffs and recommend practical solutions (Engineer III).
  • Attend project meetings and present specific aspects of engineering assignments with proficiency and confidence (Engineer III).
  • Receive guidance when necessary on unconventional or complex problems, with review of completed work for sound professional judgment (Engineer III).
