About The Position

The Civil Cyber Chief of Staff reports to the Director of Civil Cyber and works across the business with market and portfolio leaders to assess performance, challenge assumptions, and drive decisions into action. This role requires a broad view of the business, connecting financial performance, pipeline, growth initiatives, products, and partnerships to identify areas of success and breakdown. The Chief of Staff will own the operating cadence for business performance and growth, ensuring the pipeline and initiatives support revenue and profit commitments. They will have the autonomy to resolve execution issues across teams, escalating significant risks and decisions to the Director. U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work performed.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in a role with substantial responsibility for business performance and execution (e.g., strategy and operations, business operations, growth or go-to-market operations).
  • Experience independently owning a business performance process or cross-functional operating cadence, including defining analysis and leading reviews.
  • Experience analyzing revenue and profitability alongside pipeline, forecasts, or comparable forward-looking commercial measures to assess plan delivery.
  • Experience validating business data, reconciling incomplete or conflicting information, and identifying assumptions or execution gaps.
  • Experience working with senior leaders on business risks and decisions, including challenging assumptions, recommending corrective actions, and identifying needs for leadership intervention.
  • Experience leading complex work across teams without formal reporting authority and driving corrective actions to completion, with evidence of improved business performance or execution.
  • Experience writing and presenting concise executive reports or briefings on performance, implications, tradeoffs, and decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.

  • Experience serving as a Chief of Staff or operating partner to a leader accountable for revenue, profitability, or portfolio performance.

Responsibilities

  • Own Civil Cyber’s business-performance and growth reviews, defining the analysis and agenda for decision-making.
  • Assess revenue, profitability, contract mix, and pipeline, including product/platform sales and strategic partnerships.
  • Reconcile conflicting inputs and distinguish measurable business outcomes from activity.
  • Collaborate with market and portfolio leaders to validate opportunities and initiatives for meeting revenue and profit targets.
  • Test assumptions, identify gaps, and establish corrective actions.
  • Prepare concise executive reports on performance, changes, reasons, and necessary risks/decisions.
  • Maintain an integrated view of priorities, milestones, financial impact, dependencies, and risks for leadership intervention.
  • Lead analysis and resolution of cross-team execution problems (e.g., demos, partner activity impacting pipeline).
  • Work with leaders to complete corrective actions and escalate material risks or decisions requiring Director's authority.
