About The Position

Our Distribution group is currently looking to add Civil Construction Technician (s) to our growing team, based in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Foreman, we are seeking a physically capable and team-oriented construction professional to support civil infrastructure construction on the Calgary Green Line LRT project. This is a hands-on field role involving underground cable installation, conduit work, equipment operation, and general site support in a fast-paced urban construction environment. Please Note: This position works a Monday - Friday (5/2) schedule with 10 hour days. High potential for additional overtime at peak periods.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a team-oriented construction environment
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a satisfactory driver's abstract
  • Experience operating construction equipment including mini excavators, backhoes, and directional drills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labour outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions
  • Flexibility to work varying hours and days as project schedules require
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings for assigned tasks
  • Applicants must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions.

  • Standard First Aid / CPR certification

Responsibilities

  • Support all civil infrastructure activities
  • Install underground cable and conduit
  • Swamp for excavators, move materials, and assist with general site labour as directed by the Foreman
  • Operate company vehicles, mini excavators, backhoes, and horizontal and directional drills as required
  • Read and interpret construction drawings to carry out assigned tasks accurately and within provided timelines
  • Complete daily timesheets, force-account records, pre-trip vehicle inspections, and other required paperwork
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site through daily cleanup and adherence to all safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in daily tailgate meetings and maintain compliance with all site safety requirements, including PPE standards and Valard safety protocols
  • Work collaboratively with crew members, subcontractors, and site supervisors to maintain project schedule and quality standards
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Foreman
