About The Position

LaRiviere, Inc. is seeking a skilled foreman who also functions as a heavy equipment operator for heavy civil work in the Moscow, ID / Clarkston, WA area. This is a field position located at job sites throughout the central Idaho region. The foreman will work directly with the superintendent to manage daily construction operations on site, with opportunities for growth and training. The position offers competitive pay based on experience.

Requirements

  • Heavy Equipment Operating Experience: 5 years
  • 3 years leadership experience on heavy civil construction projects.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to operate a variety of construction heavy equipment.
  • Must have reliable transportation to area job sites
  • Strong work ethic and the willingness to report to work on time.
  • Computer skills
  • Ability to read plans
  • Continuously and frequently bending, climbing stairs/steps, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs. (occasionally up to 100lbs with assistance.), repeated push pull motion, simple grasping, fine manipulation.
  • Ability to work safely around other moving machinery, exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, dust, fumes, and gases.
  • Required to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Plan workflow for most efficient use of resources.
  • Assist in scheduling manpower and equipment.
  • Plan for and oversee safety compliance on all jobs.
  • Collaborate with safety director.
  • Train personnel on safe work practices.
  • Operate construction related heavy equipment (Excavator, Skid-steer, bulldozer, backhoe, front end loader, grader, articulating haul truck, etc.) proficiently and safely at all times and in all types of conditions.
  • Assist with manual labor activities as necessary.
  • Show up 15-20 minutes prior to employees arrival to inspect site.
  • Complete a thorough walk around and ensure completion of daily equipment checklists by operators.
  • Attend and facilitate regular safety meetings.
  • Work and communicate well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Report any safety concerns to your immediate supervisor.
  • Report hours and job duties correctly on daily timecards.
  • Keep equipment clean. Good housekeeping is a MUST.
  • Complete daily reports and enter all time and equipment usage records into Bid2Win system.
  • Act as a management representative with customers, subcontractors, municipalities, etc.
