The Department of Civil and Construction Engineering at Brigham Young University (BYU) seeks applications from highly qualified candidates for three full-time positions in continuing-faculty-status tracks. Outstanding candidates across all areas of Civil Engineering or related fields are invited. Focus areas may include, but are not limited to, geotechnical engineering, structural and materials engineering, computational mechanics, transportation and infrastructure systems, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, hydraulic engineering, hydrologic engineering, and related fields. The department is located in a new engineering building with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories and benefits from a strong university-wide emphasis on mentored research for both graduate and undergraduate students. The department offers extensive resources and university support, including generous funding for capital equipment and supplies, an annual travel budget, substantial funding for student teaching assistants, access to extensive computer hardware and software, and acclaimed international study-abroad programs. The department emphasizes experiential learning with an interdisciplinary approach to sustainably and ethically design, engineer, construct, and manage the built environment. The successful candidate must demonstrate their ability to contribute through high-quality teaching, mentorship, and a focused research agenda.
