The company prioritizes the safety, security, and satisfaction of its employees. Turner Industries Group is seeking experienced Form Carpenters for positions at GBR located in Texas City, TX. Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit a resume or visit the Pasadena Personnel and Training Center. The current schedule is 5-10s with potential for additional hours in the fall. Candidates must have NCCER or be able to pass a craft test, and previous experience with concrete is a plus. A background and health screening is required.

Requirements

  • One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)
  • Must have NCCER or be able to pass craft test
  • Must be able to pass background/health screening
  • Written pre-employment qualification test
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Hazard Communication orientation/test
  • Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
  • Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others in the work place.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with concrete is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Constructs, erects, installs, fabricates, dismantles, and repairs structures, formwork, and fixtures of wood, metal forms, and associated accessories.
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, or structural plans to understand material requirements and dimensions.
  • Selects specified types of lumber or other materials.
  • Prepares layouts, including lines and grades.
  • Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials.
  • Shapes materials to prescribed measurements.
  • Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together.
  • Erects framework for structures and lays sub-flooring.
  • Builds stairs and lays out and installs partitions and cabinet work.
  • Covers sub-floor with building paper to prevent moisture and lays hardwood, parquet, and wood-strip-block floors.
  • Fits and installs prefabricated window frames, doors, door frames, weather stripping, interior and exterior trim, and finish hardware.
  • Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
  • Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures.
  • Fabricates formwork, loads, hauls, and carries it to the job site, and installs per drawings, sketches, or plans.
  • Places and finishes concrete in formwork and sets and aligns form panels.
  • Sets grout forms for epoxy and cement grout.
