About The Position

This role involves performing carpentry duties under the direction of a General Foreman or Superintendent. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills and knowledge in their craft and be able to supervise daily tasks for a crew. The position requires active support of the company's commitment to safety and core values, adherence to the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and performing duties with a high degree of accuracy and quality control.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years’ carpenter experience, preferably in refinery environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards and protocols.
  • Able to proficiently run several types of equipment (forklifts, manlifts, etc.).
  • Able to communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and other departments about issues and solutions.
  • Complete the Company’s Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client/Site specific training.
  • MUST obtain and maintain active status within the appropriate drug testing program.
  • MUST pass background check.
  • MUST have TWIC card.
  • MUST obtain the 20-hour high hazard facility training card.
  • MUST have Verification of 8,000 craft related hours OR Graduated journeyperson status preferred.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Pour concrete, finish and build and place straight concrete forms, irregular concrete forms, forms for underground electrical i.e.: duct banks, concrete forms for stairways and floors, walls and columns.
  • Layout Batter boards, partitions, doors and windows, box-cut in concrete walls acoustics and drywall, floor and ceiling runners, studs, stiffeners, bracing, and fire blocking.
  • Install thermal and sound insulation, backing and finish materials, and fireproofing of columns, beam and chases.
  • Assist in excavation activities and installation of underground shoring systems.
  • Assist in installation and demo of underground utilities.
  • Handle and dispose of asbestos abatement and other hazardous materials.
  • Operate equipment to support construction and maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Work well with supervision.
  • Train and supervise apprentices (may be required).
  • Perform other responsibilities as required or assigned.
