About The Position

This position involves working under the direction of a General Foreman or Superintendent on daily tasks for a crew at BP Cherry Point in Blaine, WA. The role requires good skill and knowledge of duties within the craft environment being supervised. Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years’ carpenter experience, preferably in refinery environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards and protocols.
  • Able to proficiently run several types of equipment (forklifts, manlifts, etc.).
  • Able to communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and other departments about issues and solutions.
  • Complete the Company’s Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client/Site specific training.
  • MUST obtain and maintain active status within the appropriate drug testing program.
  • MUST pass background check.
  • MUST have TWIC card.
  • MUST obtain the 20-hour high hazard facility training card.

Nice To Haves

  • Verification of 8,000 craft related hours OR Graduated journeyperson status preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”

  • Perform duties within a precise limit or standard of accuracy (Quality Control).
  • Pour concrete, finish and build and place straight concrete forms, irregular concrete forms, forms for underground electrical i.e.: duct banks, concrete forms for stairways and floors, walls and columns.
  • Layout Batter boards, partitions, doors and windows, box-cut in concrete walls acoustics and drywall, floor and ceiling runners, studs, stiffeners, bracing, and fire blocking.
  • Install thermal and sound insulation, backing and finish materials, and fireproofing of columns, beam and chases.
  • Assist in excavation activities and installation of underground shoring systems where required.
  • Assist in installation and demo of underground utilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Asbestos abatement and other hazardous material handling and disposal.
  • Responsible for operating equipment to support construction and maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Must work well with supervision.
  • May be required to train and supervise apprentices.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required or assigned.
