About The Position
The Carpenter constructs, installs, and removes concrete forms and related structures for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, foundations, and other heavy civil infrastructure projects. The Carpenter works from plans and specifications to ensure quality and accuracy of completed work.
Requirements
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
- Proficiency with construction hand tools and power tools.
- Strong understanding of concrete forming techniques.
- Ability to work at heights and around active construction operations.
Nice To Haves
- Minimum 5 years of heavy civil or concrete formwork experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Construct, erect, and remove concrete forms for bridges, walls, columns, footings, decks, and other structures.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood, steel, and other forming materials.
- Install embeds, anchor bolts, chamfers, blockouts, and other formwork components.
- Assist with concrete placement, finishing, and curing operations.
- Build and maintain temporary structures, work platforms, and falsework.
- Verify dimensions, grades, and elevations.
- Coordinate activities with field supervisors, operators, and laborers.
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition.
- Comply with all safety requirements and company policies.
