About The Position

Hydraterra Professionals (HtP) is a growing civil and environmental engineering consulting firm specializing in water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects throughout Pennsylvania. Our team provides innovative solutions for treatment facilities, pumping stations, collection systems, distribution systems, storage facilities, and GIS-based asset management. At HtP, your work directly improves critical infrastructure and public health in the communities we serve. We are seeking a motivated, meticulous Civil CAD Designer to support the planning, design and construction of public and private water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The Designer will be responsible for the preparation of water and wastewater infrastructure drawings and sketches related to conceptual planning through final design. Infrastructure will include water and wastewater distribution, collection, conveyance, treatment, and storage systems. Communication skills will be essential as the Designer will be expected to communicate effectively with engineers, scientists, and other team members. Communication of project status through written and oral reports will be required. This position offers the opportunity to advance into a Senior Designer as experience and responsibilities increase. A thorough understanding of drawing layers, plan views sectional views and construction details is required.

Requirements

Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, CAD Technology, or related field.
2+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, including preparation of plan and profile drawings, utility layouts, and construction details.
Experience preparing construction drawings.
Communication skills will be essential as the Designer will be expected to communicate effectively with engineers, scientists, and other team members.
Communication of project status through written and oral reports will be required.
A thorough understanding of drawing layers, plan views sectional views and construction details is required.

Responsibilities

Create civil and mechanical drawings for water and wastewater facilities.
Develop plan, profile, section, and detail sheets.
Integrate survey, GIS, and utility information into project drawings.
Read and interpret civil prints, mechanical equipment cut sheets, schematics, and municipal specifications.
Support the preparation of permit plans and construction documents.
Coordinate utility layouts with engineers, scientist, and project managers.
Participate in field investigations and site visits.
Establish and maintain a current and complete set of electronic drawings files.
