About The Position

Modjeski and Masters is seeking Civil Bridge Design Engineers with at least 4 years of related bridge design experience for their Poughkeepsie, NY office. This role involves performing structural analysis and design of bridge components, developing preliminary details, preparing project documents, and potentially participating in field inspections and construction services. The position offers opportunities to work on challenging bridge engineering projects and collaborate with experienced professionals.

Requirements

Minimum of 4 years related Bridge Design experience
BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University
Within 6 months of obtaining a valid PE license
Authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

Review and check standard structural design calculations.
Perform structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using analysis software.
Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans.
Provide information for design reports.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field inspections and construction service assignments.
Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
Review and check drawings.
Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.
Learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc.
