About The Position

RK&K is hiring a Civil BIM Coordinator to support infrastructure projects firmwide as part of its Engineering Support team. The role advances Civil BIM, digital delivery, and infrastructure modeling practices across transportation, water, and public infrastructure projects. It provides technical guidance on Bentley and Autodesk platforms, supports project teams with modeling and data-management challenges, and helps establish and improve Civil BIM standards.

The coordinator supports adoption of AI-enabled technologies, automation, digital twins, connected data environments, and visualization tools. The position also helps develop BIM Execution Plans and project-specific modeling and data requirements, supports contractual digital-delivery obligations and model-quality initiatives, and identifies opportunities to improve processes through technology and standardization.

The role provides technical consulting and project support, contributes to proposals and pursuit efforts, monitors industry developments, and helps plan and execute strategic technology initiatives. It works with business units, project teams, technical leaders, QA teams, and technology partners to advance digital engineering and consistent digital-delivery practices. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience.
• Background in Civil Engineering.
• Strong 3D modeling/BIM experience.
• Experience with Bentley and/or Autodesk applications.
• Knowledge of tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ProjectWise, and Open X Applications.
• Experience supporting file-management systems, project-collaboration platforms, and connected data environments.
• Ability to support and guide civil engineering teams across the firm.
• Ability to help teams adopt 3D/model-based delivery practices rather than serving as a traditional IT support person.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a firmwide resource for Civil BIM, digital delivery, and infrastructure modeling best practices.
• Collaborate with technical leaders to advance model-based delivery across transportation, water, and public infrastructure projects.
• Support and optimize workflows using Bentley and Autodesk platforms; evaluate software capabilities, integrations, and emerging technologies.
• Partner with project teams to troubleshoot complex modeling and data-management challenges.
• Support Civil BIM standards and continuous improvement of infrastructure modeling processes.
• Research and evaluate AI-enabled technologies, automation tools, and digital engineering solutions; identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality control, data analysis, and delivery.
• Support pilot programs and implementation strategies for emerging technologies.
• Assist in developing and deploying digital twin solutions and integrating design, asset, and operational data throughout project lifecycles.
• Identify opportunities to use connected data environments and visualization technologies.
• Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to develop BIM Execution Plans and define project-specific modeling, data, and digital-delivery requirements.
• Assist project teams in meeting contractual BIM and digital-delivery obligations.
• Work with QA teams on design review and model quality initiatives.
• Identify process improvements through technology, automation, and standardization; measure and communicate the value of digital-delivery initiatives.
• Advise project teams on BIM implementation, interoperability, data management, and digital-delivery strategies, and help resolve project-specific challenges.
• Review client BIM, digital-delivery, and infrastructure-modeling requirements during pursuits; assist with technical approaches, execution strategies, and compliance documentation.
• Contribute proposal content describing RK&K’s Civil BIM, AI, digital-delivery, and digital-twin capabilities.
• Monitor developments in BIM, digital twins, AI, infrastructure technology, and model-based delivery; recommend strategic investments and process improvements.
• Assist in planning, prioritizing, and executing strategic technology initiatives, and communicate status, risks, opportunities, and implementation progress to leadership.
• Support adoption of new processes and technologies and encourage consistent digital-delivery standards across projects.
• Build relationships with business units, project teams, and technology partners to advance digital engineering initiatives.
