About The Position

Michael Baker International is seeking an Aviation Civil Associate to join their Aviation Engineering group in the Nashville, TN office. This role will report directly to the Nashville Aviation department lead or an Aviation Engineer and will involve planning, design, and construction engineering for airports and other transportation projects. The company has over 75 years of experience providing planning, design, and construction services to airports worldwide, serving as an on-call "extension of staff" to many of their aviation clients. They pride themselves on understanding local airport communities and incorporating those elements into their designs and plans, recognizing airports as key economic drivers.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology
2+ years experience
AutoCAD experience, preferably with Civil 3D experience

Nice To Haves

Aviation and/or Transportation/Site Development Engineering background preferred but not required
Engineer-in-Training preferred

Responsibilities

Geometric layout of roadways, parking lots and airfield facilities
Drainage design to support airfield, roadway and parking lot projects
Civil / site design to support airport building structures
Preparation of technical specifications for landside and airside projects
Preparation of construction cost estimates
Writing engineer’s reports
Developing graphics for client presentations
Performing construction engineering services including shop drawing review, responses to contractor questions and periodic construction site visits.
