About The Position

The Entry-level Civil and Water Resources Engineer role is a position within Trihydro’s Infrastructure and Natural Resources Business Unit. As a team member, you will assist with developing solutions for municipalities, state agencies, conservation and irrigation districts, and private clients, addressing civil infrastructure and water resource needs and improvements. Working within multidisciplinary project teams, you will assist in improving infrastructure systems, including water supply, sanitary sewer, transportation, and stormwater systems while supporting the assessment and development of water resources to meet agricultural, municipal, and industrial demands, as well as environmental objectives. This full-time position requires approximately 40-45 hours per week. If you thrive in a collaborative environment, this opportunity is ideal for you.

Requirements

  • Recent graduate, new to civil engineering (minimal to no engineering design experience) and are looking for opportunities to build your technical foundation.
  • Experience with and/or are interested in civil infrastructure, water and wastewater systems, transportation, and water resources.

  • Engineer-in-training (E.I.T. or F.E.) or have plans to obtain your E.I.T. or F.E. within 6 months.

  • Willingness to travel to client locations and other Trihydro offices.
  • Understand the importance of time management and possess excellent organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experienced in AutoCAD and Civil 3D or related CADD programs.
  • Proficiency with HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SewerGems, GIS or other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software.

Responsibilities

  • Performing technical research and design calculations.
  • Learning design and modeling software, drafting figures, and preparing construction plan sets.
  • Performing assigned design tasks, quantity calculations, and construction cost estimates.
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
  • Researching construction materials and contacting/coordinating with construction material suppliers.
  • Preparing technical memorandums, design reports, and permitting applications.
  • Developing cost estimates.
  • Conducting field data collection, performing site inspections and inventories, and performing construction observation, monitoring and reporting.
  • Performs assigned technical tasks under supervision using established procedures and guidance.
  • Assists with preparation of technical deliverables (e.g., calculations, data collection, analyses, documentation).
  • Demonstrates attention to accuracy, completeness, and quality in assigned work.
  • Supports project teams by completing assigned tasks on time and as directed.
  • Learns project workflows, documentation standards, and internal processes.
  • Demonstrates reliability, accountability, and a willingness to learn.
  • Follows all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Actively develops foundational technical skills and professional competencies.
