About The Position

Kimley-Horn's Pearland, Texas (TX) office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Land Development team. This is not a remote position. The role involves performing site development engineering and project management tasks across a variety of projects, solving complex problems, assisting project managers, and collaborating across disciplines. Projects will include a variety of land development site designs. The position supports research, coordination, project management, cost estimating, permitting for land disturbance, preparation of bid packages, and technical specifications. The analyst will develop familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and client’s practices, procedures, and standards. Support will also be provided for plan production, project financials, and client interactions. This position requires 10% domestic travel. Remote work from home is acceptable as projects permit within a reasonable commuting distance of the Pearland, TX office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering
  • Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Experience working under a licensed professional engineer to assist in private development, public improvements and structural design projects
  • Preparing construction drawings and documents in CAD software including AutoCAD and Microstation
  • Using StormCAD, Hydroflow, ICPR and other industry accepted software and development of hydrology studies
  • Preparing paperwork and deliverables for client submittments

  • Perform site development engineering and project management tasks across a variety of projects

  • Support research, coordination, project management, cost estimating, permitting for land disturbance and preparation of bid packages as well as technical specifications
  • Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards
  • Support plan production, project financials, and client interactions
