About The Position

Michels Road & Stone, Inc. provides and places materials for road, airport, mass excavation, and shoreline protection projects. Its Construction Technology department supports 3D modeling, surveying, and GPS grade-control activities for the division. The work includes reviewing BIM clash detection, reviewing construction plan sets, performing take-offs, building project models, collecting grade points and infrastructure data, and calibrating project sites using GPS survey and/or grade-control equipment.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of 3D modeling experience and/or heavy civil experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Trimble Software, Top Con, GPS, Revit, Revisto, Navisworks, GIS software, and BIM 360.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles that may be driven, and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review BIM clash detection using applicable software.
• Review construction plan sets.
• Perform take-offs and build project models.
• Collect grade points, utilities, and other infrastructure data.
• Calibrate project sites using GPS survey and/or grade-control equipment.
