The Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion (DoSER) program, part of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), aims to foster communication and engagement between scientific and religious communities. With support from the Rita Allen Foundation, this fellowship invites applications for a Civic Science Fellow to develop and implement a project focused on advancing dialogue, mutual understanding, and collaborative engagement between scientific and religious communities on critical contemporary issues. The fellow will work with DoSER and AAAS staff to define the project's focus, which may explore topics such as the interests of faith communities in scientific issues, overlaps with other societal stakeholders, community impacts and ethical implications, equipping scientists to engage with faith communities, leveraging existing efforts for broader participation, and understanding how religious identity influences participation in science. The Fellow will also have opportunities to collaborate with other AAAS programs like SciLine and the Center for Scientific Responsibility and Justice.
