The Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion (DoSER) program, building on AAAS's commitment to relate scientific knowledge and technological development to societal concerns, facilitates communication and engagement between scientific and religious communities. With support from the Rita Allen Foundation, DoSER seeks a Civic Science Fellow to develop and execute a project advancing dialogue, mutual understanding, and collaborative engagement between scientific and religious communities on pressing issues. The Fellow will work with DoSER and AAAS staff to define the project focus, which may explore scientific topics of interest to faith communities, community impacts and ethical implications of scientific issues, equipping the scientific community for engagement, leveraging existing efforts for community leader involvement, and understanding how religious identity impacts access to and participation in science. The position is based in the DoSER program but offers opportunities to collaborate with other AAAS programs.
