About The Position

The CMPA Assistant supports the City Music Academic Program Manager and the Prep Academy Director during the Saturday operating hours of the City Music Preparatory Academy Program. This position is 6 1/2 hours per week, Saturdays from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. The pay rate is $17.51.

Requirements

• Must be a current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
• Must be enrolled at least half-time in a degree-, diploma-, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. During summer, a student may remain employed without enrollment if pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester; this exception does not apply during fall or spring.
• Must have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
• Must remain in valid visa status, as applicable.
• Must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. First-semester students may work before receiving an official GPA.
• Must be in good disciplinary standing.
• Must be located in the U.S.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with contemporary office systems technology, including word processing, email, and spreadsheet applications.

Nice To Haves

• Federal Work Study students may apply.
• Previous teaching experience is a plus.
• A major in Music Education or Music Therapy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and interact with a variety of people in an articulate, cordial, and professional manner.
• Open appropriate classrooms for CMPA teaching artists.
• Support teachers in classrooms and ensembles.
• Help maintain accurate attendance records by checking students in.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
