City Launcher (Atlanta)

Brodie Rec LeagueAtlanta, GA
$60,000 - $72,000Onsite

About The Position

As a City Launcher, you will be responsible for opening and managing a new market end-to-end. This includes securing facilities, recruiting founding captains and free agents, building local buzz, and running the launch season. You will be the primary representative of Brodie League in your city, engaging with captains and players at game nights and local events. This role is designed for individuals who want to own a city's growth, can manage the entire sales cycle, are deeply connected to the local basketball scene, and are energized by fast-paced startup environments. The position offers a path to running multiple cities and contributing to the development of a category-defining brand.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in sales, partnerships, community management, or growth.
  • Strong outbound and relationship-building skills, and comfort generating your own pipeline from a standing start.
  • Experience managing conversations from first touch through close.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills - equally credible with a facility owner and with a group of players in a gym.
  • Highly self-motivated and comfortable operating autonomously.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Real passion and expertise for basketball, sports culture, and community.
  • Technologically savvy - tech fuels our growth, you need to have strong tech acumen.
  • Based in your launch market, with travel across your territory as it expands.
  • Availability on evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • An existing network in the local basketball community - programs, coaches, parks, run groups, or tournaments.
  • Experience in startup or high-growth environments.
  • Background in sports, events, hospitality, fitness, lifestyle, or entertainment industries.
  • Experience running social media for a local brand, venue, team, or community.
  • Experience building or improving sales and go-to-market processes.
  • Familiarity with CRM and pipeline management systems (i.e. HubSpot, etc.).
  • Experience selling partnerships, sponsorships, memberships, or experiential products/services.
  • Experience managing people, a venue, or a location

Responsibilities

  • Own the full launch cycle in your market, from first cold outreach through to a sold-out opening night.
  • Identify gyms and facilities within your territory, then negotiate and lock in the right venue.
  • Build relationships with gym owners, local businesses, brands, community organizations, and strategic partners.
  • Recruit and secure a minimum of 24 founding captains per league, plus a healthy pool of free agents, to establish strong early community engagement and league success.
  • Manage your location’s social page in the lead-up to launch - building the following, the anticipation, and the local waitlist before night one.
  • Develop outbound strategies across email, phone, LinkedIn, DMs, networking, & events.
  • Validate the market with real numbers - demand, pricing, fill rate, waitlist - so leadership can decide where Brodie goes next.
  • Tap into local basketball programs, coaches, high schools and colleges, rec centres, parks, open gyms, community centres, barbershops, and small businesses to source captains and teams.
  • Host open runs that turn curious players into free agents, free agents into teams, and teams into returning captains.
  • Promote and drive the referral program so captains and players become your largest recruiting channel.
  • Recruit and place free agents onto teams so nobody who wants to play gets left out.
  • Show up where the game already lives - leagues, tournaments, pickup, and local events - and bring Brodie into those rooms.
  • Track pipeline activity and performance metrics in CRM so recruitment is forecastable, not lucky.
  • Attend game nights in your market. You are the face of Brodie in your city.
  • Build genuine relationships with captains and players to drive retention and season-over-season re-registration.
  • Build relationships with fans, families, and spectators so game night becomes a community rather than a booking.
  • Monitor the health of your league in-season - retention, team count, waitlist, feedback.
  • Partner closely with Operations on game-night execution while retaining ownership of growth, revenue, and community in your market.
  • Earn the right to expand: stabilize your market, then help launch and oversee adjacent cities as your territory grows.
  • Help create the repeatable launch playbook, outreach cadences, and grassroots recruitment strategies every future Brodie city will use.
  • Continuously test and improve messaging, outreach, and conversion strategies.
  • Contribute ideas around positioning, packaging, pricing, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Act as an ambassador for Brodie within your community and build authentic relationships that align with Brodie’s culture and energy.
  • Bring a high-energy, people-first presence to every interaction.
