About The Position

The Facilities Management Division (FMD) plays a critical role in keeping Department Facilities operating safely for staff and visitors as it oversees the maintenance for over 250 Department Facilities Citywide. FMD manages multiple facility renovations that support Department initiatives and unit relocations. FMD is comprised of uniform, civilian trades, professional and administrative staff. The Facilities Management Division Campus Management Section is seeking a City Laborer.

Requirements

• There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position.
• There are certain medical and physical requirements.
• Possession of a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York.

Responsibilities

• Moving, lifting and carrying items of various weights and sizes
• Loading and unloading heaving equipment and materials at Department facilities, warehouses
• Moving vans or trucks; operating manual and/or power-driving equipment
• Assisting skilled craftsmen and engaging in clearing debris from construction and/or repairs
