Under direction, manage, plan, and coordinate the operations, maintenance and repair of Citywide facilities and street light program; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, departments and outside agencies. This role involves managing, assigning, prioritizing, and monitoring work projects and activities related to City facilities and City street lights. The position requires formulating and implementing division strategic plans and work activities to align with department directions and goals. It also includes overseeing the planning, implementation, direction, and management of all division functions and resources to achieve strategic objectives efficiently and effectively. The role entails planning, directing, and inspecting the work of maintenance crews (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and painting) for City-owned/leased facilities, City street lights, park infrastructure, and City parking lots. Reviewing work products and improving work methods and procedures are key aspects. The position also involves providing direction and oversight in the implementation and operation of an inventory control system and managing the work order tracking system. Furthermore, it includes managing the implementation and operation of a building and street light preventative maintenance program, developing and implementing divisional productivity improvement measures, and developing and implementing policies and procedures for facility and street light operations. The role also requires managing and administering service contracts with contractors, reviewing plans and specifications, identifying and planning for future needs, and planning, designing, and supervising departmental construction and renovation projects. Budget development and generation of divisional goals and objectives are also part of the responsibilities, including monitoring the budget, reviewing and approving payments, estimating costs, preparing specifications, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations, monitoring expenditures, and preparing complex technical reports. Finally, the position involves supervising assigned staff, including interviewing, recommending hiring/termination, organizing workflow, delegating, reviewing work, training, developing employees, preparing performance appraisals, and recalling employees for emergencies.
