About The Position

The City of Chandler City Clerk’s Office is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a City Clerk Specialist. The position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler. The City Clerk’s Office offers a wide range of services to the residents of Chandler and the surrounding communities. Election assistance and passport applications are just some of the services provided, along with a multitude of information and records regarding the City Code and City Council actions. The City Clerk’s Office preserves legal documents and is the source of information on City Council legislation and actions. The City Clerk’s Office conducts all municipal elections, assists the Mayor in administering the appointment of members to serve on various City boards and commissions, and provides services to the public including passport services, public records requests, and oversees Chandler's boards and commissions, and the Chandler Municipal Code and City Charter. Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. They will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while providing professional and courteous support to the public, elected officials, and City staff. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced office environment, communicates effectively, and takes pride in maintaining accurate records and delivering exceptional public service.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of administrative support experience
  • Passport Acceptance Agent Designation upon hire or promotion
  • Notary Public Certification within three (3) months of hire or promotion
  • Fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment
  • Awareness of the City of Chandler’s policies concerning the use of drugs and alcohol, including that the use of recreational marijuana is a violation of the city’s Drug Free Workplace Policy.
