About The Position

The City of Chandler City Clerk’s Office is seeking qualified individuals to join their team as a City Clerk Specialist. This position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The City Clerk’s Office offers a wide range of services to the residents of Chandler and the surrounding communities, including election assistance, passport applications, and providing information and records regarding the City Code and City Council actions. The office preserves legal documents, conducts municipal elections, assists the Mayor in administering appointments to City boards and commissions, and handles public records requests. The new team member will serve as an essential member of the City Clerk’s Office passport acceptance team, with passport services representing a primary responsibility for this position. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. They will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities while providing professional and courteous support to the public, elected officials, and City staff. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced office environment, communicates effectively, and takes pride in maintaining accurate records and delivering exceptional public service.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of administrative support experience
  • Passport Acceptance Agent Designation within three (3) months of hire or promotion
  • Notary Public Certification within three (3) months of hire or promotion
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  • Fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
  • Awareness of the City of Chandler’s policies concerning the use of drugs and alcohol.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an essential member of the City Clerk’s Office passport acceptance team.
  • Provide passport services.
  • Provide election assistance.
  • Process passport applications.
  • Provide information and records regarding the City Code and City Council actions.
  • Preserve legal documents.
  • Conduct municipal elections.
  • Assist the Mayor in administering the appointment of members to serve on various City boards and commissions.
  • Provide services to the public including passport services and public records requests.
  • Oversee Chandler's boards and commissions, and the Chandler Municipal Code and City Charter.
