About The Position

The City of Cottonwood Heights is seeking a dependable and professional City Administrative Assistant to join our Administrative Services team. This position plays a key role in supporting daily city operations by assisting residents, coordinating administrative processes, managing receipting functions, and providing exceptional customer service to both internal staff and the public. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their day, thrives in a fast-paced office environment, and takes pride in providing excellent public service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four (4) years of related administrative or clerical experience
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work independently and professionally with the public
  • Typing speed of 60 WPM

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with bookkeeping, receipting, or cash handling preferred
  • Experience in local government, permitting, licensing, or administrative support is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and assisting residents, visitors, and city staff
  • Answering and directing phone calls and responding to public inquiries
  • Assisting with business license and permit processing
  • Coordinating meetings, calendars, inspections, and city communications
  • Processing payments, receipting transactions, and preparing deposits
  • Maintaining records, files, and office systems
  • Supporting city events, meetings, and administrative projects
  • Assisting with general office operations including mail, supplies, and scheduling
