About The Position

Citizens Bankers are the face of the branch, dedicating their time to getting to know customers and building lasting relationships by providing trusted advice. This role is ideal for an outgoing "people person" who enjoys helping others and offering sound financial advice. Using strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with a broad range of financial knowledge, the Citizens Banker will provide recommendations and assist customers with financial solutions related to spending, saving, borrowing, and investing needs. They will learn customers' personal financial goals and recommend tailored solutions for future planning, home buying, or opening new credit cards. The role also involves introducing customers to digital and mobile banking options, collaborating with partners in Wealth Management, Mortgage, and Business Banking for complex financial needs, and making outbound calls to acquire new customers and schedule financial checkup appointments. All financial policies and procedures, including proper cash handling and compliance with state and local laws and regulations, must be followed.

Requirements

  • High School degree or GED required
  • 2 years of sales and customer service experience, demonstrating an ability to meet or exceed goals
  • Ability to effectively ask questions and identify needs to improve the customer relationship
  • Proven success with building relationships, and recommending and referring products and services through in-person and phone interactions
  • Demonstrated skills in using digital technology to support the delivery of business goals
  • Aptitude to problem solve and provide solutions to customer issues
  • Recognized ability to strengthen relationships with teammates, business partners and specialists through collaboration
  • Self-motivated, confident and ability to multitask effectively
  • Ability to work branch hours, which can include weekends and evenings
  • Meet and comply with all requirements set forth in the SAFE Act, including, but not limited to successful completion of the pre-employment screening checks and obtaining a unique identifier from the NMLS
  • Qualified candidates must complete a video interview assessment after applying as the next step, to be completed within 7 days of receiving the link
  • Bilingual - Spanish Required

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with partners in Wealth Management, Mortgage and Business Banking to help customers with more complex financial needs
  • Make outbound calls to acquire new customers and schedule financial checkup appointments
  • Understand what might be a good fit for a customer now, may not be 6 months from now
  • Follow all financial policies and procedures, including proper cash handling, state and local laws and regulations
