About The Position

Concept Solutions is seeking a Cisco IronPort Email Security Administrator to support a large-scale FAA environment (~60,000 users). This role is responsible for administering and securing enterprise email gateway systems, with a focus on Cisco Email Security Appliance (ESA) and Microsoft 365 in a hybrid messaging environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in system administration, email security, or network engineering
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco IronPort / Email Security Appliance (ESA)
  • Strong proficiency with AsyncOS
  • Knowledge of SMTP, MIME, and internet message formats
  • Experience with email security policies and threat protection
  • Familiarity with both CLI and web-based GUI administration
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace administration
  • Proficiency with Windows 11 / enterprise environments
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
  • Knowledge of backup solutions (e.g., Arcserve)
  • Understanding of network fundamentals and TCP/IP
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with log analysis, monitoring tools, and performance tuning
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) – Cybersecurity or higher
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Cisco Email Security Appliance Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience in federal environments (DOT, FAA, or similar)
  • Exposure to email platform migrations (e.g., on-premises to cloud)
  • Familiarity with hybrid or multi-platform messaging environments

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain Cisco IronPort Secure Email Gateway (SEG) appliances
  • Manage AsyncOS configurations, upgrades, and system performance
  • Implement and enforce email security policies (anti-spam, anti-malware, data loss prevention)
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to email threats and incidents
  • Perform message tracking, reporting, and log analysis
  • Apply firmware updates, patches, and security enhancements
  • Support and administer Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online)
  • Assist in email platform integration, migration, or coexistence strategies
  • Collaborate with enterprise teams to ensure secure mail flow and policy alignment
  • Install and configure network hardware and supporting infrastructure
  • Utilize ServiceNow for incident, change, and request management
  • Diagnose and resolve email delivery, connectivity, and security issues
  • Conduct log analysis and root cause investigations
  • Monitor system health and respond to alerts and incidents
  • Partner with Cybersecurity teams on threat mitigation and response
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, configurations, and procedures
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Network, and Enterprise Messaging teams
  • Support audits, compliance requirements, and continuous improvement efforts
