Circuits Implementation Engineer

Apple•Santa Clara, CA

About The Position

As part of Apple’s Silicon Technologies group and Digital Custom Group (DCG), the Circuits Implementation Engineer helps define performance, power, and area (PPA) targets for future systems-on-chip and products. The role tracks the development of custom and SRAM designs throughout the design cycle, from feasibility through GDS, and contributes to circuit design for Apple products and silicon platforms, including CPU, GPU, SoC, Neural Engine, and Camera designs. The engineer collaborates with SRAM and custom-circuit teams and cross-functional design teams to develop specifications, track dependencies, and provide technical solutions. The role uses design analysis, layout, and simulations to establish PPA trends, finalize designs for upcoming products, and monitor development progress, schedule, specification closure, PPA, and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree.
  • At least 3 years of relevant industry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience within a SoC design cycle.
  • Experience developing custom circuits and SRAM/Register File designs for low-power, low-voltage, and high-performance applications.
  • Experience with custom-circuit design methodology.
  • Experience leading or managing projects.
  • Knowledge of cache design or architecture and memory hierarchy.
  • Solid understanding of industry-standard design tools.
  • Deep understanding of nanometer device physics, leakage mechanisms, and technology interactions with device behavior.
  • Gen AI, machine-learning algorithms, and scripting experience.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze designs to define PPA targets for current and future technology nodes.
  • Work with SRAM and custom-circuit teams to formulate design specifications.
  • Use layout and simulations to establish PPA trends.
  • Finalize the SRAMs and custom designs to be built for upcoming SoCs and products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional design teams to define specifications, track dependencies, and provide technical solutions.
  • Track SRAM and other custom-design development for schedule, specification closure, PPA, and quality.
