About The Position

Repair, upgrade, recondition, and re manufacture electrical equipment ranging from individual circuit breakers to complete substations. Work includes teardown, troubleshooting, rebuild, wiring, testing, and documentation in a production and service environment. Support onsite and emergency jobs when needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems and make repairs safely.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to use your own tools.
  • Comfortable reading, studying, and applying OEM manuals and technical literature.
  • Strong measurement skills using tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Detail oriented, well organized, team focused, and dependable.
  • Willing and able to work overtime as needed.
  • Willing to travel to job sites after training when required.
  • Basic computer skills including Excel, PDF tools, and Outlook.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and strong electrical fundamentals.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to organize work and write procedures in a logical, methodical way.
  • Good time management and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Relevant electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, upgrade, recondition, and re manufacture electrical equipment.
  • Perform breaker teardown and rebuild, including cleaning electrical parts, disassembling circuit breakers, safely working with stored energy mechanisms, removing and reinstalling electrical components with accurate documentation, reading breaker evaluations and work orders, reconditioning electrical components (auxiliary switches, motors, relays, coils, and related assemblies), and verifying electrical components function properly before installation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues on breakers.
  • Read and interpret OEM manuals and detailed adjustment instructions.
  • Read schematics including point to point and one line diagrams.
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical wiring.
  • Electrically operate breakers from wiring schematics including charge, close, and trip functions.
  • Operate test equipment appropriate to the breaker type.
  • Support onsite work and emergency jobs when needed.
  • Travel to job sites as required after training.
